As the fire in Ayers Gulch, Southwest of Lewiston, Id continues to be contained, members of Idaho’s III% have been placed on stand-by for supply runs.
Members of leadership have been placed in direct contact with the fire chief should the need arise for additional assistance to provide additional drinking water, food, tools, as well as clearing paths and keeping working lines open. The assistance is set up so that direct focus may be kept on the blaze. Phone calls are expected to come in during the day as well as through the nights.
Initially, Leadership member Mathew Dillard proposed the teams with the idea of a massive spaghetti feed as a way of saying ‘thank you’ for continuing to protect the community. However, another catering company had been brought on beforehand to take care of the eating arrangements. But, as versatility goes, Idaho II% members are ready for any challenge and are prepared to cooperate in any capacity in order to maintain public safety.
Standing by as a civil defense team for emergency situations allows the III% to cooperate with local communities, law enforcement, and even firefighters in a time of need. As an Idaho III% member, we believe in being prepared for any situation whether man-made or natural disaster. We support all types of skills from the members such as food prepping, food storage, firearms training, Constitutional Rights education, and the occasional spaghetti feed. But doing supply runs and sharing the load works for us as well. Stay ready, be empowered, be informed.
